Experience

  1. Research Assistant

GLAMOR Lab, USC / Georgia Tech
    • Developed SAFECAST, a robust runtime failure-detection framework for Vision-Language-Action (VLA) robot policies using perturbation-augmented hidden-state probes and conformal calibration under visual and language distribution shifts.
    • Evaluated failure prediction across π₀, π₀-FAST, and OpenVLA in simulation and real-world robot manipulation, with contrast sets spanning lighting, texture, distractors, language, and initial-state shifts.
    • Built an RGB-D visual-servoing and gesture-based demonstration system for the Hello Robot Stretch using 3D hand tracking and reactive control, and extended the system to Franka Research 3.
    • Collected multimodal robot trajectories and developed preprocessing, replay, and policy-training pipelines for learning from demonstration.
  2. Research Assistant

SAIL Lab, University of Southern California
    • Worked on multimodal behavioral coding and temporal activity localization from therapy-session videos involving children with autism.
  3. Research Assistant

SLURM Lab, University of Southern California
    • Developed robot-learning methods for assistive dressing using segmented point clouds and human pose to maximize garment coverage over the arm.
    • Designed collision-aware trajectory optimization methods for contact-rich manipulation and evaluated them against inverse-kinematics baselines.
    • Contributed to the Cornell PhyRC Assistive Dressing Challenge, where our system achieved the highest Phase-1 score and advanced to Phase 2.
  4. Research Assistant

I3D Lab, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
    • Built a mixed-reality assistive assembly instruction system with Collins Aerospace using computer vision to detect and track components.
    • Curated real and synthetic training data for component detection, improving detection confidence by 4%.
    • Built mixed-reality robot teleoperation interfaces, including regression-based mapping from HoloLens coordinates to the robot workspace for remote welding path execution.
  5. Developer Associate

    SAP Labs India
    • Developed production backend services for enterprise data privacy and GDPR compliance using Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
